Stone Countertops & Surfaces: Marble, Granite, Quartz, Quartzite & Porcelain
Why Stone Surfaces Matter in Modern Design
Stone is one of the most popular materials for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, and home surfaces. Beyond its timeless beauty, stone offers durability, functionality, and design flexibility that few materials can match. At Timeless Stone, we help homeowners and designers choose the right stone to enhance any room.
Marble: Classic Elegance with Natural Veining
Marble countertops are synonymous with luxury and sophistication. Known for their unique veining and smooth finish, marble slabs create a high-end aesthetic that works beautifully in both traditional and modern kitchens and bathrooms.
-
Best for: Bathroom vanities, statement kitchen islands, fireplace surrounds.
-
Colors: Whites, grays, and soft pastels with dramatic or subtle veining.
-
Care: Requires sealing and mindful cleaning but rewards you with unmatched beauty.
Granite: Durable & Timeless
Granite countertops remain a favorite for homeowners seeking durability with natural character. Each slab is unique, featuring speckled or patterned movement in a wide range of colors.
-
Best for: Busy kitchens, outdoor kitchens, flooring.
-
Colors: Deep blacks, earthy browns, warm golds, and bold reds.
-
Care: Extremely durable and heat-resistant; occasional sealing recommended.
Quartz: Engineered Strength & Style
Quartz countertops are an engineered stone made from natural quartz crystals, resins, and pigments. This combination creates a non-porous, stain-resistant, and low-maintenance surface ideal for modern living.
-
Best for: Kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and commercial spaces.
-
Colors: Vast selection of whites, grays, concretes, and marble-look patterns.
-
Care: No sealing required; easy to maintain.
Quartzite: Natural Beauty Meets Durability
Quartzite countertops are formed when sandstone is exposed to heat and pressure, creating a dense, durable surface that rivals granite in strength while offering the veining beauty of marble.
-
Best for: High-traffic kitchens, floors, and wall cladding.
-
Colors: Neutral tones, whites, grays, with subtle to bold veining.
-
Care: Stronger than marble; sealing helps protect against stains.
Porcelain: Versatile & Modern
Porcelain countertops and slabs are made from refined clay and mineral blends, fired at extremely high temperatures. They are lightweight yet strong, offering heat, stain, and UV resistance—perfect for indoor and outdoor use.
-
Best for: Kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor kitchens, wall panels.
-
Colors: Wide variety, including stone-look, wood-look, and solid designs.
-
Care: Extremely low maintenance; no sealing required.

I called the company immediately. A repair was completed on 7/17, but it only made things worse—the filler was flaking and the patches were more noticeable than the original damage. I made multiple follow-up calls (7/17, 7/18, and 7/24) and was told each time that a manager would call me back. For weeks, I received no response.
At the same time, I noticed that the counter to the left of my stove was visibly uneven, something I hadn’t even been able to report yet due to the lack of follow-up.

Eventually, I did receive a call back from the owner, and while our initial conversation was heated and disappointing, I’m grateful that he and his team ultimately took the time to come out, re-evaluate, and take responsibility for the situation.
It was confirmed that the piece to the left of the stove had been cut incorrectly and would be replaced. While the repair to the island was passable, I realized I would never feel fully satisfied with it—especially since it’s the focal point of my kitchen. I found myself always pointing it out before others noticed, and I ultimately decided to replace the island completely to remove that lingering frustration.
Both pieces were replaced, and the installers were professional, clean, and kind throughout the process. The new countertops look beautiful, and I can finally enjoy my kitchen the way I had originally hoped.
While the experience started off rough and frustrating, the company did make it right in the end. That follow-through—and their willingness to hear me out—earned this updated review.

Dennis & Sherrill
The office staff was courteous, professional & knowledgeable. The 3 men who arrived to complete the order request were on time, very polite, & thoroughly explained the process of my order. They had to enlarge the opening on the granite at the sink area to accommodate a new faucet, plus clean, buff and polish all the granite in the kitchen area, and the master bathroom area.
I am very pleased with the results, and would absolutely highly recommend this company!
Best regards,
Sandy S.
